## Guiding Principles

We’re a diverse community of kind, curious, deep-thinking, creative people guided by the following principles in how we work together as a team, build our products, and engage with the community we serve.

We believe that the best work is done in a community, and have set out to build a platform that enables this for others. A great community creates **psychological and physical safety** so that people can be their true selves. A great community values **fairness** and **equity**. It’s one that is **inclusive** and **centers marginalized voices** in the process of building.

Leading with curiosity allows us to **mitigate our biases** and be open to a diverse spectrum of ideas and identities. Our curiosity allows us to **listen to what is emerging** from the community and approach situations with openness.

### Our work is a craft that requires a high level of quality in process and outcome.

Our process involves **deep listening**, making space for **creativity**, and designing **intentionally**. We **move with purpose** and are building for what is needed for tomorrow. We aren’t limited by the way things have been done in the past. We will make mistakes, take risks, and **be accountable** for our actions.

### We lead with kindness.

We are considerate of the needs of others. Kindness includes giving and receiving **thoughtful, constructive, & direct feedback** in pursuit of building stronger relationships.
